A public, expanded version of a newsletter article.

SpaceX had not announced an official date for Starship Flight 15 as of mid-October 2026. Here is what the public sources say, and which parts are still unconfirmed.

The target date

Air-traffic planning material now shows a target of no earlier than Nov. 8, 2026, according to NASASpaceflight. It says the slot comes from a slide in a CADENA operations planning conference held Oct. 8. An earlier target of Oct. 19 has slipped. "No earlier than" means the launch cannot happen sooner, and it can happen later.

The vehicles and the plan

According to NASASpaceflight and Wikipedia, Flight 15 is planned to fly Booster 22 and Ship 42, the fourth pair of Block 3 vehicles, from Orbital Launch Pad 2 at Starbase, Texas, and place the ship in low Earth orbit. As of late September, SpaceX had not announced the payload or a detailed flight profile. NASASpaceflight says Ship 42 needs more cryogenic testing and Booster 22 could be ready for a static fire in about a week.

Space Launch Schedule reports that Elon Musk said on Oct. 10 that Flight 15 was "hopefully four to six weeks away."

What is not confirmed

Smaller outlets say SpaceX will try to catch the ship for the first time. We could not confirm that from SpaceX or a major outlet, so treat it as unconfirmed.

What comes next

An unofficial schedule lists Flight 16 for no earlier than Dec. 10, possibly from Kennedy Space Center's pad 39A. That is a very tentative date.
